About Ferry Isla de Lobos
Ferry Isla de Lobos is the Lobos ferry run by the Oby Group, a provider of boat trips and watersports on Fuerteventura that says it has operated on the island for around ten years. Alongside the ferry, the group runs catamaran excursions to Lobos and Pozo Negro bay, a transfer service, and the Marina Puerto Castillo in Caleta de Fuste. The ferry sails 365 days a year from the jetty in Corralejo.
Boats
The Ferry Lobos Island runs the scheduled service, alongside the Celia Cruz with its 16 underwater windows, which also does mini-cruises from Corralejo. Both take 15 to 20 minutes from Corralejo to El Puertito on Lobos; the operator counts around 14 sailings a day in both directions combined, with times changing by season.
Routes covered on this site
The main line is Corralejo - Lobos. The operator also sells combined tickets covering a bus transfer and the crossing: currently Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from Caleta de Fuste, and Fridays from the south around Costa Calma and Morro Jable, with hotel pick-up on request; at purchase you choose your region and pick-up point, and the pick-up time then appears in your booking. The bus runs to Corralejo in the morning and back in the afternoon, while the crossing itself always starts and ends in Corralejo.
Check-in, permit and pets
For check-in, head to the jetty in Corralejo 20 minutes before departure; ID or a passport is enough, including to show residency. The operator applies for the free Cabildo de Fuerteventura permit to visit the island alongside your online purchase; the Cabildo caps the number of visitors per day. Ferry Isla de Lobos does not carry pets on board. For the island, the operator recommends bringing water and food, sturdy shoes and sun protection, since there is only one restaurant and it does not take reservations. More on dogs on the Canary Islands ferries in the guide Travelling with a dog in the Canary Islands.
Tickets and cancellation
Tickets are available online, including on the day, and at the jetty. Cancellations and rebookings are handled by email from the address used for booking: up to 48 hours before the trip the operator refunds in full or in part, between 48 and 24 hours 75 percent is charged, and after that the full amount. If the trip is cancelled due to weather, you get your money back; cloud or rain alone don't count - what matters is the instructions from the maritime authorities. The booking window shows current prices, and the price overview compares the Lobos boats.
