Getting There and the Las Palmas Terminal
Both operators depart from the Puerto de la Luz, the city port of Las Palmas. Fred Olsen Express uses the Muelle Grande Poniente, and Baleària Canarias has its terminal in the same port; follow the signs for Puerto from the GC-1 from the south and from the airport. The Parque Santa Catalina with the bus station is a ten-minute walk away, and the operators have desks at the port.
Check-in and Departure
Under Fred Olsen Express's conditions of carriage, you need to be ready to board 20 minutes before departure, or be at the quay 40 minutes beforehand with a vehicle. Baleària Canarias requires 60 minutes without and 90 minutes with a vehicle, and more with a motorhome on the night ferry. Keep your ID or passport in your hand luggage; residents show proof of address for the discount.
On Board
Sailings to Morro Jable run on Fred Olsen Express's catamarans Betancuria Express and Barlovento Express and Baleària Canarias's ferries Mercedes Pinto, Volcán de Tagoro and Volcán de Taidía, each with seating areas, a cafeteria and an outer deck. On the night ferry to Puerto del Rosario you book a cabin or a reclining seat. Payment is in euros, by card.
Vehicles, Bicycles and Pets
Cars, motorhomes, motorbikes and bicycles are carried on both routes, with vehicle type and registration number needed in the booking. With a rental car, check the rental agreement beforehand, as many rental companies exclude travel to another island. Register pets when booking; Fred Olsen Express offers a crate, Pet Rooms and the Pet Sofa, while Baleària Canarias offers Pet&You mats, quiet kennels and pet-friendly cabins on the night ferry. Arrival on Fuerteventura and Onward Travel
Morro Jable lies in the south on the Jandía peninsula, with the ferry port on Calle Atlántico a few minutes from the town and the beaches; Puerto del Rosario and the airport are around 90 kilometres away via the FV-2. Puerto del Rosario is the island capital with a bus station, the airport six kilometres to the south. If you're heading on to Lanzarote, travel from either port to Corralejo in the north and take the 25-minute ferry from there to Playa Blanca.

Both operators sell tickets online and at the counter; Canary Islands residents get the official discount of 75 percent, and Fred Olsen Express also offers a large-family discount. Baleària Canarias offers a fare with free cancellation.
