Tenerife - Fuerteventura Ferry

Getting There and the Santa Cruz Terminal

Both ferries depart from the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, at the Estación Marítima Puerto-Ciudad on the Muelle de Ribera, right by the city. By car, follow the signs for Puerto and Estación Marítima, from the TF-1 from the south and the TF-5 from the north; the Intercambiador bus station and the tram stop are a few minutes away. Baleària Canarias has a desk in the terminal.

Check-in and Departure

Baleària Canarias requires 60 minutes' notice without and 90 minutes with a vehicle on its Canary Islands routes; on the night ferry with a motorhome or trailer, allow a bit more, as loading order depends on vehicle size. Keep your ID or passport in your hand luggage; residents show proof of address for the discount.

On Board

Sailings to Morro Jable run on the ferries Mercedes Pinto, Volcán de Tagoro and Volcán de Taidía, with seating areas, a cafeteria and outer decks; you won't need a cabin for the four-hour crossing. On the night ferry to Puerto del Rosario you book a cabin or a reclining seat, with a restaurant and bar on board. Payment is in euros, by card.

Vehicles, Bicycles and Pets

Cars, motorhomes, caravans, motorbikes and bicycles are carried on both routes, with vehicle type, length and registration number needed in the booking. With a rental car, check the rental agreement beforehand, as many rental companies exclude travel to another island. Register pets when booking: on Pet&You mats next to your seat or in quiet kennels during the day, and also in pet-friendly cabins on the night ferry. Arrival on Fuerteventura and Onward Travel

Morro Jable lies in the south at the end of the Jandía peninsula; the ferry port on Calle Atlántico is a few minutes from the town and the beaches, with Puerto del Rosario and the airport around 90 kilometres away via the FV-2. Puerto del Rosario is the island capital with a bus station, the airport six kilometres to the south; Corralejo in the north is around 40 kilometres away via the FV-1.

Tickets and Fares

Baleària Canarias sells tickets online and at the counter; Canary Islands residents get the official discount of 75 percent, plus a fare with free cancellation. Book cabins and vehicle spaces on the night ferry early, as they sell out fast during holidays.
