About Naviera Nortour
Naviera Nortour is a family business from Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura, founded in 1988. Its first boat, the Barco Majorero, was built in Palma de Mallorca in spring 1989 and arrived in Corralejo in August 1990; on 21 June 1991 Nortour received the concession for the ferry link to the Isla de Lobos and has sailed there daily ever since. The office sits at the harbour entrance in Corralejo next to the Bar La Lonja.
Boats
The Barco Majorero is a wooden excursion boat just under 20 metres long, with room for 150 passengers; its glass bottom lets you see down to the seabed during the crossing. The Majorero Express is a smaller, lighter boat for a faster trip. Both take around 20 minutes from Corralejo to El Puertito on Lobos.
The route covered on this site
Nortour operates just one line: Corralejo - Lobos and back, daily except for four public holidays, with cancellations in wind and rough seas. Extra afternoon sailings are added in summer. The operator also runs a snorkelling mini-cruise off the south coast of Lobos, which can be combined with the ferry.
Boarding, permit, bicycles and dogs
Boarding closes 10 minutes before departure; allow around 45 minutes' extra time for finding parking at the harbour in summer, or take bus line 6 to its final stop at the harbour. For the island you need the free Cabildo de Fuerteventura permit, which Nortour applies for as an extra with online tickets; places are limited. Bicycles travel as an add-on to your booking, and pushchairs, sunshades and surfboards travel free of charge, as does a folding wheelchair. Tickets
Tickets are available online with a boarding pass on your phone, at the harbour office, and on board while spaces last. Fares are fixed, with children and residents paying less; the state resident discount for inter-island ferries does not apply here. Nortour advertises free cancellation.
